Round six of Super Rugby continued the trend of unpredictability, with a few major upsets the results were:
Highlanders defeated the Hurricanes 35-31
Waratahs defeated the Rebels 32-8
Blues defeated the Cheetahs 40-30
Brumbies defeated the Stormers 25-15
Force defeated the Chiefs 18-15
Lions defeated the Reds 23-20
Bulls defeated the Sharks 23-19
Round six offered a plethora of incredible games, with only one blowout as the the tahs demolished the rebels. The largest margin outside of that game was 10 points and this is indicative of how competitive this season is proving to be.
Perhaps the most impressive result was the Western Force's victory over the Chiefs, this was the Force's third win in a row and they are starting to prove that they can't be taken lightly anymore. This result, coupled with the Sharks loss means that after only six rounds no team is undefeated in the league.
However, the Sharks, Chiefs, Waratahs and Brumbies are shaping up as the teams to beat.
The next few weeks will be crucial in deciding who tops each conference. The Waratahs play three away games in a row, including two in South Africa. A successful raid overseas could set them up incredibly well, yet a string of losses would pile the pressure on home results.
Next weeks match-up between the Sharks and Tahs looks to be the game of the round. It should be a cracker.
What was the most impressive result of the round? Who impressed and who needs to pick up their game?
