The Weekly Cheik Up

Another home game, another win.

Michael Cheika welcomed back Israel Folau to the Tahs in a win over the Bulls that sees the Waratahs in fourth position. Whilst it wasn't a high scoring affair, Cheika was happy with the performance saying.

"It wasn't a diamond performance but there was plenty of good, hard work going on out there and sometimes that's just what you need."

Besides Folau's return, the biggest story line of the week has been Kurtley Beale who limped off on Saturday with an injured ankle. All signs seem that he will play this week in Auckland and his importance cannot be overstated.

Cheika was in a talkative mood this week and offered more insight than usual on what the Tahs need to work on.

"This is the halfway stage of my tenure here, one and a half years in, one and a half to go, and what we really want to focus on in the next 10 weeks till the end of the regular season ... is really [making] sure we are an improving side and that all the little opportunities - not just try-scoring opportunities - all our options ... we start to improve on."

Clearly Cheika is starting to fine-tune this team for finals rugby. Hopefully it works.
