It seems like forever since the Waratahs last played, last weeks bye left many Tahs fans with an insatiable hunger for rugby. Luckily for all these punters the Waratahs return to action this Sunday afternoon against the Lions.
Coming off the back of a great win against the Hurricanes, it is imperative that the Tahs keep up this form and maintain their unbeaten home record this season. The Tahs haven't won two games in a row since the start of the year, and whilst the Lions aren't heavyweights of Super Rugby Dave Dennis was quick to praise them.
''They're a strong attacking team and teams probably underestimated them a little bit in terms of what they're capable of,"
Coach Michael Cheika has been unusually quiet over the past fortnight, probably influenced by the guilty verdict he received at his SANZAR hearing. Tactically he can't let this weekends game turn into an arm-wrestle. If the Tahs can play in their style and turn it into a high-scoring game then they should have the firepower to overcome the Lions. If they can't then they are at the mercy of penalty goals and refereeing decisions.
All in all, it should be a good game.
It's great to be back
