Ewen McKenzie has named his final squad for the first international game against France and he hasn't been afraid to drop some big names. Will Genia has been the most notable omission and he hasn't even managed to make the bench, with Nic White starting and Nick Phipps on the bench. Former captain James Horwill starts on the bench as well.
The team is to be lead by Stephen Moore with two waratahs as his deputies in Michael Hooper and Adam Ashley-Cooper.
The Waratahs have a very strong showing in the 23 man squad with six players starting and four on the bench. Bernard Foley has been named to start outside of White and has apparently been given the kicking duties, this is a great reward for the strong season he's had so far.
Team is as follows.
1. James Slipper, 2. Stephen Moore, 3. Sekope Kepu, 4. Rob Simmons, 5. Sam Carter, 6. Scott Fardy, 7. Michael Hooper, 8. Wycliff Palu, 9. Nic White, 10. Bernard Foley, 11. Nick Cummins, 12. Matt Toomua, 13. Tevita Kuridrani, 14. Adam Ashley-Cooper, 15. Israel Folau.
Reserves: 16. Tatafu Polota-Nau, 17. Pek Cowan, 18. Paddy Ryan, 19. James Horwill, 20. Ben McCalman, 21. Nick Phipps, 22. Kurtley Beale, 23. Pat McCabe.
Congratulations to Sekope, Michael, Wycliff, Bernard, Adam, Israel, Paddy, Nick, Tatafu and Kurtley.
